The regional flu vaccination campaign starts on November 1st and making an appointment is required. Only people with an appointment will be accepted at the seasonal flu vaccination clinics organized by CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent.
Our virtual tea-time is a bi-weekly online gathering of our community members to share their stories and interests around a cuppa tea! We have a special themed discussion for every alternate tea-time. The special theme for our tea-time on October 28th is on electric cars.
Every year, Early Childhood Week is an opportunity to raise awareness, encourage dialogue and advocate for early childhood development. Let’s take a moment this week to have a closer look at the youngest members of our community, and to think about what we can do together to help each child get the best possible start in life.
In collaboration with the Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence team and under the authority of the Assistant Director, Culture & Heritage, the person sought will plan, coordinate and develop the services of the two (2) HLSL public libraries: the bilingual Métis-sur-Mer library AND the English-language Rimouski library.
Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence (HLSL) is pleased to inaugurate the collective container mural “Vessel of Hope” at Metis Beach school, a public work of art that celebrates the resilience of our community. With a grant from Canadian Heritage and contributions from its partners, this project took place between April and October 2021, with several community workshops involving many volunteers and participants.
During this presentation, Dr. Serge Gauthier will explain the signs and symptoms of dementia as well as how clinicians make a diagnosis. Claire Webster will share practical advice on how to care for a person living with dementia as well as important considerations to ensure the safety and well-being of both the individual as well as the care partner.
The Heritage team is pleased to continue offering virtual biweekly Tea Time gatherings this Fall! We will also be offering Special Theme Tea Times like we did for Christmas Traditions, Collecting and Saving Seeds, and WW2 and the Lower St. Lawrence. We invite all our participants to suggest themes of interest for upcoming gatherings.
Please note that the Métis-sur-Mer library will reopen to the public starting on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 You will be able to access the books and browse through the collection every Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
