The trail begins at this easy to miss junction with Road 132 and Beach Road, where the legendary Petit Miami, now known as Petit M\u00e9tis, once stood. At the junction with Route MacNider, it continues along the Metis East route, including the Les Boules sector. 2 km (from west entrance on Beach to MacNider road), 34 stops<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

(En)<\/strong> Doug Johnston was a prisoner of war in Hong Kong during the Second World War. One Christmas he received a tin of tomatoes from the Red Cross. While eating the tomatoes, he saved some seeds. Back in Canada after the war, he successfully grew some tomato plants from the

After Turriff Hall was destroyed by fire, the lot lay empty until 1972 when Rodney and Joycelyn Turriff purchased the land and built their house. Joycelyn designed the house and Rodney built it almost entirely from wood, windows and doors obtained from six former houses in the area.
