The Public Health Agency of Canada<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/span>launched a consultation process to support the development of a Federal Framework on Lyme Disease.<\/span> This consultation will solicit perspectives on Lyme disease from the medical community, governments, patients\u2019 groups, as well as individual Canadians.<\/span>Specific feedback will be solicited on three key themes of the Federal Framework, as outlined in the <\/span>Act:<\/i><\/span>\u00b7 <\/span>National medical surveillance:<\/b><\/span>\u00a0to track incidence rates and the associated economic costs of Lyme disease in Canada.<\/span>\u00b7 <\/span>Guidelines and best practices:<\/b><\/span>\u00a0the prevention, identification, treatment and management of Lyme disease and sharing of best practices throughout Canada.<\/span>\u00b7 <\/span>Education and awareness: <\/b><\/span>to develop standardized educational materials for use by Canadian public health providers to increase national awareness about the disease. <\/span>Stakeholders and the public are invited to participate in the online consultation at the following address:<\/span>http:\/\/surveys-sondages.hc-sc.gc.ca\/s\/lyme_disease-maladie_de_lyme\/?l=en<\/span><\/a><\/span>Comments will be accepted until June 30, 2015. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
