Under the guidance of spoken word artist Dona Nham, working through the Quebec Writers\u2019 Federation\u2019s regional StoryScaping project, community members contributed their writing and spoken words to this third issue of FONT magazine. Font is a monthly online magazine that spotlights compelling and innovative English-language literary activity from across Quebec. Enjoy!<\/p><div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div><hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/><div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>Spoken Ancestries is an online spoken word workshop that will take participants on an introspective journey of the Self. Where do we come from? Who do we come from? What is home? Our own personal histories and lineages will be the inspiration for building a deeper language to ourselves and relationship to our roots. Participants will be guided through a series of collective and individual activities that will investigate, explore, and celebrate the mysteries and truths that only they can tell. Elements of spoken word, performance, and play will be explored in the activities. No prior experience needed! Come prepared to be curious, to have fun, to write, to share, and to build a relationship to your story. At the end, you will leave with more creative tools and practice under your belt to share your own ancestral stories through spoken word. &nbsp; <h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0Wednesdays, November 17, 24, December 1, December 8* (optional) 2021<\/h4><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">from 10am to 12pm<\/h4><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">via Zoom <\/h4><h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">With Dona Nham<\/h4> &nbsp; We look forward to intergenerational participation in the workshop and encourage duos of grand-parents-children, parent-child, siblings, etc to join us as well!\u00a0 <i>There is an opportunity to publish the works of this workshop in a new professional online magazine, with paid remuneration. She is a spoken-word artist, arts-based facilitator, community organizer and cultural worker.
