Your HLSL Hub Tax Receipt is Now Available<\/p>

Exciting news! Our team has been working tirelessly on multiple fronts for the Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence (HLSL) Community Hub, and we\u2019re thrilled to share a major milestone.<\/p>

We have officially set up an endowment fund with the Fondation communautaire Bas Saint-Laurent Gasp\u00e9sie Les-\u00celes (BSLGLI). This means donations to HLSL can now be made through the foundation, and tax receipts will be issued!<\/p>

Here\u2019s how it works: Your donation goes into the Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence Fund (https:\/\/fondationc-bslgli.com\/tous-les-fonds\/?f=recherche&ptb-search=1&ptb_post-title=Heritage+Lower+Saint+Lawrence+Fund<\/a>)<\/span> Half of the amount will be available in a Temporary Fund to directly support the HLSL Community Hub project; The other half goes into a Permanent Fund, generating annual interest for HLSL. The Board of Directors can choose to spend this interest or reinvest it to grow the endowment.<\/p>

We are also working towards securing our own charitable status, though this is a long and complex process. In the meantime, if you\u2019d like to donate without needing a tax receipt, you can still contribute through our HLSL Community Hub Zeffy Campaign (https:\/\/www.zeffy.com\/en-CA\/fundraising\/04fd786d-d4df-4f8b-a35a-7872f9bcee84<\/a>)<\/span><\/p>

A huge thank you to Michael Astle, who has supported HLSL in so many ways\u2014including making the very first donation to our endowment fund!<\/p>

Please help us spread the word! The HLSL Community Hub exists because of this community, for this community.<\/p>

March is a time of renewal, and at the Hub, that means exciting renovations to create a better, more vibrant space for our community! If you pass by the Caf\u00e9 later this month, you\u2019ll notice things are buzzing! We\u2019re kicking off an exciting renovation phase, which includes: Relocating the kitchen to the front of the building and upgrading equipment for better functionality. Replacing the oil furnace with a modern electric warm-air furnace, complete with a heat storage unit and integrated heat pump\u2014a big step toward sustainability! To make these upgrades happen, the Community Hub and Caf\u00e9 sur Mer will be closed for the month of March and most of April. And don\u2019t worry, as soon as the Hub renovations are complete, Caf\u00e9 sur Mer operators Jessy and Daphn\u00e9 will be excited to showcase the newly upgraded kitchen space!<\/p>

This phase of the project is made possible thanks to the generous support of MRC de La Mitis, our main funding partner. We\u2019re also thrilled to announce that the New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) has come through with funding for new kitchen supplies, helping us better serve our senior community.<\/p>

Des nouvelles excitantes ! Notre \u00e9quipe a travaill\u00e9 sans rel\u00e2che sur plusieurs fronts pour le carrefour communautaire H\u00e9ritage Bas-Saint-Laurent (HBSL), et nous sommes ravis de partager une \u00e9tape importante.<\/p>

Nous avons officiellement \u00e9tabli un fonds de dotation avec la Fondation communautaire Bas Saint-Laurent Gasp\u00e9sie Les-\u00celes (BSLGLI). Cela signifie que les dons au HBSL peuvent maintenant \u00eatre faits par l’entremise de la fondation et que des re\u00e7us d’imp\u00f4t seront \u00e9mis !<\/p>

Voici comment cela fonctionne :<\/p>

Votre don est vers\u00e9 au Fonds H\u00e9ritage Bas-Saint-Laurent (https:\/\/fondationc-bslgli.com\/tous-les-fonds\/?f=recherche&ptb-search=1&ptb_post-title=Heritage+Fonds+Bas+Saint+Laurent<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>

La moiti\u00e9 du montant sera disponible dans un fonds temporaire pour soutenir directement le projet de troisi\u00e8me lieu de HBSL ;<\/p>

L’autre moiti\u00e9 sera vers\u00e9e dans un fonds permanent, g\u00e9n\u00e9rant des int\u00e9r\u00eats annuels pour HBSL. Le conseil d’administration peut choisir de d\u00e9penser ces int\u00e9r\u00eats ou de les r\u00e9investir pour accro\u00eetre la dotation.<\/p>

Nous travaillons \u00e9galement \u00e0 l’obtention de notre propre statut d’organisme de bienfaisance, bien qu’il s’agisse d’un processus long et complexe. Le mois de mars est une p\u00e9riode de renouveau, et au Hub, cela signifie des r\u00e9novations passionnantes pour cr\u00e9er un espace meilleur et plus dynamique pour notre communaut\u00e9 ! Si vous passez par le Caf\u00e9 dans le courant du mois, vous remarquerez qu’il y a de l’animation ! Nous donnons le coup d’envoi d’une phase de r\u00e9novation passionnante, qui comprend les \u00e9l\u00e9ments suivants: Le d\u00e9placement de la cuisine vers l’avant du b\u00e2timent et la modernisation de l’\u00e9quipement pour une meilleure fonctionnalit\u00e9. Le remplacement de la chaudi\u00e8re \u00e0 mazout par une chaudi\u00e8re \u00e9lectrique moderne \u00e0 air chaud, dot\u00e9e d’une unit\u00e9 de stockage de la chaleur et d’une pompe \u00e0 chaleur int\u00e9gr\u00e9e – un grand pas vers la durabilit\u00e9 ! Pour r\u00e9aliser ces travaux, le centre communautaire et le Caf\u00e9 sur Mer seront ferm\u00e9s pendant le mois de mars et la majeure partie du mois d’avril. Et ne vous inqui\u00e9tez pas, d\u00e8s que les r\u00e9novations du Hub seront termin\u00e9es, les op\u00e9rateurs du Caf\u00e9 sur Mer, Jessy et Daphn\u00e9, seront ravis de pr\u00e9senter l’espace cuisine nouvellement r\u00e9nov\u00e9 !<\/p>

Cette phase du projet est rendue possible gr\u00e2ce au soutien g\u00e9n\u00e9reux de la MRC de La Mitis, notre principal partenaire financier. Nous sommes \u00e9galement ravis d’annoncer que le Programme Nouveaux Horizons pour les a\u00een\u00e9s (PNHA) a financ\u00e9 l’achat de nouvelles fournitures de cuisine, ce qui nous aidera \u00e0 mieux servir notre communaut\u00e9 de personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es.<\/p>
