ED job offer (English/Français)
Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence (HLSL) is seeking a candidate to fill the position of executive director to lead the organization, ensure its development and manage its staff. HLSL is a non-profit organization whose primary role is to provide services to the English-speaking communities of the Lower St. Lawrence. HLSL serves the 1,000 English-speaking residents in the region. It is based in Métis-sur-Mer. The organization participates actively in community development and partners with local institutions and organizations in educational initiatives, health and social services, youth projects, community events and cultural activities. The organization opened a new resource centre and library in Métis-sur-Mer last June.
The executive director is responsible for establishing and executing the annual action plan,
regular communications to the community, media and public relations, organizing activities and preparing grant applications and reports. The executive director is also responsible for the administration of the organization, managing staff and working with the board of directors.
The executive director will be:
• a talented leader able to manage a community-based organization
• experienced in grant-writing and developing partnerships
• an excellent communicator
• a solid manager with administrative experience
• fluent in English (written and spoken) with proficiency in French
• proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite an asset)
• in possession of a valid driver’s license
Compensation
The position is permanent and full-time with flexible working conditions. Occasional evening and weekend work is required, as well as travel within the province. Remuneration is competitive with the non-profit sector. The job will commence at the end of May / beginning of June.
