Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence & Bibliothèque Francoise-Bédard are teaming up on a new monthly Family Friendly Film Club in Rivière-du Loup!
The films will be shown in the Salle Bon-Pasteur, on the top floor of the Maison de la Culture. Snacks and softs drinks will be available, and the event will be followed by a craft activity.
On October 11, the film will be The Peanut Butter Solution (Opération beurre de pinottes), a 1985 Canadian children’s fantasy film directed by Michael Rubbo. The second instalment in the Tales for All series of films by Les Productions La Fête, the first of which was La guerre des tuques (1984).
The soundtrack to The Peanut Butter Solutions features a very young Céline Dion!
Peanut butter is the secret ingredient for magic potions made by two friendly ghosts. Eleven-year-old Michael loses all of his hair when he gets a fright and uses the potion to get his hair back, but too much peanut butter causes things to get a bit hairy. A fitting movie for the Halloween season. Rated PG.
The film will be presented in English with French subtitles. This event is suitable for families, and children aged 6 – 12 years old. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Solo adults will not be admitted.
The event is free. Advance registration is useful to us, but you can also simply show up on the day of the event.
