Vessel of Hope Inauguration

A « Vessel of Hope » to celebrate a community’s resilience through art

Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence (HLSL) is pleased to inaugurate the collective container mural “Vessel of Hope” at Metis Beach school, a public work of art that celebrates the resilience of our community. With a grant from Canadian Heritage and contributions from its partners, this project took place between April and October 2021, with several community workshops involving many volunteers and participants.    « The circular paintings that are glued to the container show the strength and the resilience of our community in these troubled times, » says artist Lynn Fournier. « Our hope is to create a community art project that addresses the social and psychological issues raised by the pandemic in order to generate hope in our beautiful community, » says artist Karine Berthelette.
