SUMMER STUDENT JOB:Full time: 35 hours per week for 8 weeks Work period: Daytime, Week Days (including possibly three Saturdays) Start date: As soon as possible Salary: $16.50/hour Place of work: Metis Resource Centre, but could occasionally have to go to the Rimouski Resource Centre, and the surroundings The employee hired will help serve the English-speaking community in our region. Our activities are offered in both official languages of Canada. Under the supervision of the Library Services Coordinator, the main mandate of the employee will be to implement programming and animate activities related to the TD Summer Reading Club, and some general activities happening at the libraries. AND Under the supervision of the Heritage projects and Historical archives Coordinator, the main mandate of the employee will be to organize historical archives and support related summer activities. Duties Related to Library Services:
- Assist the Library Services Coordinator in the organization of library activities;
- Maintain a presence on social medias;
- Ensure distribution of promotional material;
- Collaborate with youth summer activities responsibles, stimulate and support the participation of youth in those activities;
- Perform other tasks related to the library services.
- Assist the Heritage projects and Historical archives Coordinator in the organization of summer activities;
- Assist the Heritage projects and Historical archives Coordinator in the organization and classification of various resources;
- Perform other tasks related to the historical and archives services.
- Ability to communicate with the public in French and English, especially with children aged 1-14 (to animate the summer reading club);
- Ability to work in a team;
- Demonstrate autonomy, initiative, work organization;
- Comfortable using a computer, the Internet and social media.
- Canadian student under 30.
