High school students from Metis Beach School have been working hard to fundraise for their end of year trip to Quebec City.

On February 2nd 2013, students organized and held a Cipaille Supper at the Centre des Loisirs – and it was a success! There was a 50/50 draw on the night and a raffle for a Valentine’s Day basket that was drawn during the week of February 14th.

The students have plenty more fundraising planned in order to raise the money needed to go to Quebec City. On March 23rd and 24th, there will be a bowling tournament fundraiser in the village of Price. The students would like to organize another supper, spaghetti this time, in March. In April, they will be doing an Easter Basket raffle and at the end of the month, another supper.

The students are planning to visit Quebec City from June 18th to 21st and will be camping at Val-Cartier. Part of the trip is funded by a grant from Jeunes Actifs which will allow the students to take part in sports activities. The students will also be going to museums and taking part in other cultural activities.

Students have been working very hard to make money in order to go to Quebec City. They are very excited to go there and truly hope to be able to make it. If you would like to donate any money or anything else, please call Metis Beach School at 418-936-3288 and ask for Bianca Castonguay.
