First Phase of Renovations for the HLSL Community Hub Building
We’re excited to share updates about the renovation work for the Community Hub! Based on a report conducted by the architect in September, it was determined that the two-storey building at the back of the property is in too poor a state to be saved. As a result, we’re beginning the first phase of renovations by moving the kitchen into the main one-storey café section, which is in significantly better condition. This initial phase includes: -Relocating the kitchen to the front part of the building and replacing and adding kitchen equipment to enhance functionality. -Replacing the oil furnace with an electric warm-air furnace with a heat storage unit and integrated heat pump, an important step towards sustainability. During the renovations, the Community Hub and the Café sur Mer will be closed for the month of March. This first phase of the project is made possible thanks to the financial support of the MRC DE LA MITIS, our main funding partner. We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone in the community who has contributed to our fundraising campaign. Your generosity has been instrumental in helping us take this important first step toward renovating the Community Hub. Looking ahead, further renovations will be needed, including the demolition of the back building and upgrades to the front building, such as insulating the walls and basement, replacing windows, safety measures, and more. Première phase des rénovations du Troisième lieu de HLSL
Nous sommes ravis de vous partager des nouvelles sur les travaux de rénovation du Troisième lieu de HLSL ! Selon le carnet de santé réalisé par l’architecte en septembre, il a été déterminé que le bâtiment arrière à deux étages est dans un état trop dégradé pour être sauvegardé. En conséquence, nous entamons la première phase des rénovations en déplaçant la cuisine vers la section avant à un étage, où se trouve le café, qui est dans un bien meilleur état. Cette première phase comprend : -Le déplacement de la cuisine vers la partie avant du bâtiment, ainsi que le remplacement et l’ajout d’équipements de cuisine pour améliorer la fonctionnalité. -Le remplacement de la fournaise à mazout par une fournaise à air chaud électrique avec accumulateur de chaleur et thermopompe intégré, une étape importante vers la durabilité. Pendant les travaux, le Pôle communautaire et le Café sur Mer seront fermés pendant tout le mois de mars. Cette première phase du projet est rendue possible grâce au soutien financier de la MRC DE LA MITIS, notre principal partenaire financier. Nous tenons également à remercier chaleureusement toutes les personnes de la communauté qui ont contribué à notre campagne de financement. À l’avenir, d’autres rénovations seront nécessaires, notamment la démolition du bâtiment arrière et des améliorations au bâtiment avant, telles que l’isolation des murs et du sous-sol, le remplacement des fenêtres, des mesures de sécurité, et bien plus encore.
