Living Library

Phase I : Recruitment of ”Living Books”

Breaking barriers and challenging stereotypes often starts with a simple conversation.

Heritage Lower Saint Lawrence is pleased to introduce our new Living Library project, which offers the English-speaking community members the opportunity to hear and share diverse life stories with others in their communities. The project allows participants to hear first-hand about the experiences of people, and interact, ask a few questions about various challenges people went through.

How does it work?

Participants will meet ‘’living books’’ (which are real people), and then they get to know more about their stories (as if they were reading the books, except it’s an oral activity with some interaction). As for the usual library, people get to enjoy the ‘’living books’’ for a limited period of time.

Are you interested in becoming a ‘Living Book’ and sharing your Life Story?

If you are interested in participating in this project, you may send an email to culture@heritagelsl.ca or talk to one of Heritage Lower St. Lawrence employees. We are looking forward to meeting you!
