Heritage mourns the loss of one of its finest, Gaby Turriff 

The community of Metis-sur-Mer mourns the loss of Gaby Turriff, who passed away on July 15, 2023 at the Rimouski hospital. 

Gaby, a Metis native, spent the majority of her life in this cherished town. She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, eternally cherished by the residents of Metis and Saint-Octave-de-Metis. Throughout her life, she exemplified unwavering dedication as an active volunteer for over five decades, lending her time and efforts to numerous community groups. Among her passions, HLSL Senior Hot Lunches held a special place, and we are profoundly grateful for her invaluable contributions to this cause. 

Gaby was a selfless and sincere individual, radiating warmth and kindness to all those she encountered. In the wake of her passing, she leaves behind a loving and caring family, including her devoted son Erick, cherished granddaughter Anik, dear sister Ruby, and supportive brother Jean (Denise Samson).
