Paraloeil sur les murs: Event Recap
Over two magical evenings, Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 June 2026, the walls of Métis-sur-Mer came alive after dark with a programme of short films projected on the walls of buildings for the 4th edition of Paraloeil sur les murs. HLSL was delighted to newly partner with Paraloeil – Eastern Quebec’s independent cinema organisation – to support this activity, with a bilingual selection of films, including Joan Sullivan’s I Burn So You Don’t Have To. As audience members followed the magic projector chariot through the streets, each film was accompanied by a home-made cordial beverage, and with live performances from Joan Sullivan, Rachel McCrum, and Stéphanie Pelletier. The final film, the Oscar-winning Quebec animation The Girl Who Cried Pearls was shown on the beach wall, with the audience sitting on the sand and the sound of the waves lapping behind them.
