Taking Action to Prevent Falls
Philippe Briand, Kinesiologist, CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’île-de-Montréal

 

This presentation on fall prevention will cover the following topics: Risk factors for falls; Impact of falls on the quality of life of older adults; Strategies for preventing falls; Benefits of physical activity; and Resources available to promote an active lifestyle.

 

Objectives:
1 – To raise awareness of the causes that can lead to falls
2 – To enhance a feeling of effectiveness related to fall prevention
3 – To encourage the practice of regular physical activity

 

About Your Presenters
Philippe Briand is a Kinesiologist with over 10 years of experience working with seniors to improve their physical and cognitive abilities. He notes that his clients sometimes underestimate the positive impact of regular physical activity on their autonomy, which undeniably has a significant influence on their quality of life. He is passionate about the complexity of the human body and is always on the lookout for scientific and practical developments related to physical exercise. He is also a certified member of the Quebec Kinesiologists Federation.
